Explore connections between the state of play and flow.

Play States
connect + learn + play

When we are in play, we are in an altered state of being.

In this state, we are open to the unexpected.

We are open to possibility.

Play is the exploration of the possible.

It is random.

Play is an experience.

About Play States

Play States is a program that explores the neuroscience of play, play personalities and the role of play to support focus, attention and concentration.

Knowing and understanding your play personality can help you rekindle ways to find 'a state of play' in daily life.

Are you The Joker, Kinesthete, Explorer, Competitor, Director, Collector, Artist or Storyteller? A series of small group challenges will lead you to understand your 'archetype' in play. These playful challenges will promote conversation, a sense of collegiality and genuine engagement.

Play States showcases strategies to bring pockets of play into the every day and improve performance and support wellbeing.

PLAY - a tool for learning and a tool for life.

Who is this for?

Play States is the perfect program for groups who want to explore the potential for play; as a tool for learning and a tool for life.

Programs are tailored to suit the desired outcomes for the group.

Corporate & Education Teams

Staff teams both in educational and corporate settings are encouraged to be curious about the state of play as a tool for performance.

This program can also be adapted to suit Year 7 - 12 students.

All you need to do is show up - and play!

"The opposite of play is not work. It is depression."

I send out a fortnightly newsletter with links to resources, creative play ideas, research and more. It's called Create and Play Outside the Box. Subscribe here.

I respectfully acknowledge the Kaurna people who are the traditional owners of the land on which I live and work and pay my respects to  Elders, past, present and emerging.

I would also like to recognise the traditional peoples of this continent, whose land was stolen nearly 250 years ago. I am inspired by the traditions of learning on land, learning through story and working with community to give back to this country that we all call home. This land was and always will be the land of the First Nations People.
