NATURE PLAY AND OUTDOOR LEARNING
PEAK PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM

The model I love best!

Providing children with exceptional experiences, educators with inspirational and actionable new ideas and parents with information to support their role as key partners in their children’s learning and development.

This program is an ‘all in’ to get out. Outdoors that is.

This model suits early learning centres, childcare centres or school teams that are committed to  ‘community’ buy in. In a school setting, this could be a sub school or year level team. It can be the whole school too!

Peak Partnership Program

Incursions

A series of incursions are hosted on site to support your nature play and outdoor learning program in every season. Incursions are accompanied with a resource booklet, to continue learning outdoors in between sessions.  Every incursion will link to the professional development you engage in.

You will learn how to embed nature play and outdoor learning programs into your every day as a pedagogical approach rather than an 'activity.' We explore themes to suit ELC to Year 6.

Some of these include -

  • Loose parts play

  • Storytelling in nature

  • Sensory play investigations

  • Making sense of senses

  • The development of oral language

  • Embedding literacy in outdoor environments

  • Maths investigations in nature

  • Inquiry based learning through nature-based investigations

  • Rhythms and routines to connect with the natural world

  • STEM investigations and coding in the outdoors

  • Risky play - routines to support a community approach

  • Sustainability in action

  • We built it. Will they come? Next steps to connect teaching and learning to your nature play space.

  • Faith formation and nature connection

Professional Learning

Tailored professional development connects the incursion program to professional learning where new knowledge, skills and abilities are developed.

Professional development will relate to children's development, your strategic direction,  contemporary research and the most recent iterations of both the Early Years Learning Framework and the Australian Curriculum.

My training is practical in nature and simple to action. You will gain energy, momentum and clear 'next steps'.

This professional learning experience connects what you are already doing, to what you would like to do more of. Sessions are often accompanied with comments such as "This is so easy. I could have thought of it. But I didn't!"

We use data to inform our learning and to capture our transformation, with final outcomes of the partnership program shared through story. After all, story is 'data with soul.' (Brene Brown)

Parent Education Sessions

Parent information sessions (online or onsite) are facilitated to support your whole community.

This might include talking at your AGM, offering activities at your end of year community celebration or presenting online about;

  • Readiness for school

  • Backyard nature play

  • Supporting young children’s language development

  • Parenting hacks to develop and support storytelling at home

  • Play States - understanding play personalities in your household

  • Wellbeing and adventure for families

I send out a fortnightly newsletter with links to resources, creative play ideas, research and more. It's called Create and Play Outside the Box. Subscribe here.

I respectfully acknowledge the Kaurna people who are the traditional owners of the land on which I live and work and pay my respects to  Elders, past, present and emerging.

I would also like to recognise the traditional peoples of this continent, whose land was stolen nearly 250 years ago. I am inspired by the traditions of learning on land, learning through story and working with community to give back to this country that we all call home. This land was and always will be the land of the First Nations People.
